Approved Document - Basements for dwellings. Addendum 1: Plain masonry and plain insitu concrete retaining walls
The Basement Information Centre is pleased to advise that an Addendum covering Plain Basement Retaining Walls, which was submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) for approval by the Secretary of State, has been approved for production and has been progressed to final artwork.
This will cover both plain concrete and plain masonry retaining walls of height up to 2.7m.
The Addendum 1 will include:
Section 3 – Structure, which is amended to cover the introduction of the Addendum 1 Appendicies:-
Appendix 3C – Plain masonry retaining walls
Appendix 3D – Plain in-situ concrete retaining walls
Appendix 3E – Foundations of plain and reinforced walls (amended for plain walls)
Appendix 3F – Codes, Standards and references for requirements A1 and A2 (includes BS Code changes)
Expected publication date: Dec 2007.
